I'm just trying to figure out which types of media (video specifically) files this particular player accepts. The manual says jpeg but i'm wondering if it will play things like .avi .mp4 and things like that. Thanks

Turns off automatically
My Go-Video VR3840 DVD VCR Combo turns off automatically a few seconds after being turned on. It will not stay on.

The unit is in "Progressive Scan Mode" and I can't get out of it. I tried unplugging it, and now even the language on it is different. Don't have my user manual to take me through all these issues.

I have always played DVD's on my GoVideo and rented the DVD "W" . it wouldn't load so took DVD back and exchanged it for another and it still won't play on my GoVideo. Had to play it on my computer. Why won't it load this particular DVD??? DVD looks the very same as my others that do load....

Won't Power On
We had a couple power outages and now the unit won't power-on. It was connected to a surge suppressor. There is a video tape still in the unit also. Any thoughts on how to get the tape out and if there is any kind of internal reset or a component that can be replaced at a reasonable cost? Thanks…

Initializing a Disc
When I put a new disc into the dvd side, I then try to initialize it, but it won't scroll up and let me do it. Are the discs bad or is something wrong with the unit? Or, is it just me????

I just got a DISH system. In the dish set up I need to enter a 3 diget manufacturers code for my 4 year old GOVIDEO dvd/vcr recorder VR3840. Does anyone have a clue what it is? I can't find a thing in the manual. Any help would be wellcome.
