How to change DVD record mode
P 14 of the manual shows all the different recording modes for DVD, but no where can I find where it says how to change the setting. In the SETUP, under DVD Record Mode, it only shows EP (6H) of EP (8H). Nothing about other modes such as SP, LP, etc. The EP mode recording is poor as I recorded VH…

SET 1
I had this happen before and fixed it but don't remember what I had to do and can't find the book now....the screen just flashes SET 1 no matter which button I push on the remote. HELP! I need to record some history channel stuff for my kid's homeschool lessons!

Display on TV
When I connect the recorder I get a split screen on the TV. I cannot seem to remove the split screen. Both pictures are very porr quality. When going thorugh the setup screen etc, the screen remains split

Downloading TV Guide Schedule

WON'T FORMAT
re-furb unit will not format Memorex DVD+RW discs even though +RW is recommended in the manual. Is it because they're Memorex? Only ones available at best buy.

power failure

HDMI cable

Can't get disc tray to open
If I power it off and then back on, it says please wait, then says SELF CHECK, then says BYE and displays the input I'm using (L1). I can't power it off with the on/off switch and must unplug it.

The player will not accept any input from the remote control. Set 3 comes up while trying to use the remote and any operation has to be done from the unit itself. Thanks.

recording VHS to DVD
I bought this unit to copy old home movies from VHS to DVD. It works great when I want the entire tape copied. But sometimes there are sections of tape I would like to skip over and not copy to DVD. Is there any way to do this? Thanks!

U61 fault indicatior
while recording to a dvd the recorder stopped and a code of u61 displayed. then the machine said self check had failed to press enter and the disc was ejected and then powered off. now the dmr will not play anything, drive selection is inop and the u61 still displays each time i power on. any sug…

non functional
digital shows 'HOLD' whenever any button is pressed. This includes the on/off button. Anyone have any ideas short of taking the unit to a repair shop

Copying a VHS Tape

RF Modulator
I needed one for another DVD/VCR recorder (Phillips/Magnavox) but I can't get the Panasonic to work with the RF Modulator. I'm not sure if I'm hooking it up incorrectly or if I even need the RF Modulator with the Panasonic DMR-EZ485V. Does anyone know?
