Can You Help With These Problems?

  Dvd player
  The dvd player must have something wrong or I was told to download something that lets the player be compatible with certain dvds, but it makes the dvds, old and new, freeze then skip through and continue playing.

  recording on built in vcr in digital mode
  the vcr recorded fine until we switched over to the digital mode. Now it records most of the time, but 6 times out of10 it will fail to record anything but fuzz. What should I do?
