  when i insert a dvd it reads the disc then promptly turns itself off, and wont let me watch the dvd.

  Part replacement
  Do you have specifications on how to do maintenance on the Emerson EWD2202 DVD/VCR Player combo. A small black round disk with silver rectangles on the outside of one side of the disk fell off the DVD side. When you insert the DVD, it will not play but it does open and close. Where does this part go. I took the player apart and do not see where this part fell off. If you can give me some specifications where this belongs, it would be appreciated so I can fix this instead of sending it to be repaired. It looks like it was connected by a screw that may have fell off. My email address is LHardy8656@aol.com. Thank you.

  Watching a newly burnt DVD+ amd DVD -
  I have a EWD 2202 model. I had burnt 2 DVD's one + and the other - from copying film off a VHS tape. Neither of these DVD's will play on the Emerson. Any reason for this or susggestions?
