Can You Help With This Problem?

  Philips DVP 3100V Misalignment of VCR
  Tapes recorded on this machine playback without a problem on this machine but tapes recorded on a different machine and played back on this machine do not playback properly ie the picture is broken up and unstable (rolls over the body) The same problem arises if a tape is recored on this machine and is played back on a different machine. I have been told by a sales rep. in Currys Electrical Store where the VCR was purchased 17/03/06 that the cassette head is out of alignment. I first noticed that something was not right when I borrowed tapes that a friend had recorded on his machine in Sept. 2006 when the machine was 6 months old. Unfortunately I didn't act at the time and get something done under the warranty as any progammes that I recorded on this machine played back without a problem.
  I would like to know if this problem can be rectified and if so at what cost.
  I live in Coleraine, N.Ireland and advice on a local repair agent would be appreciated.
