humming

is there a way to power this down so that it's completely off? The humming in standby is making me crazy, though it's not terribly loud. Any suggestions?

shutting off....

Only way to "shut it off" is to hit the power button. It never really shuts off...it just goes into a low power stand by mode. This is so it can keep updated on the guide and any recordings that are set.
