New DVD player has no sound and no colour

We just got this today, plugged it into our LG LCD tv, as per instructions, all we get is a black and white picture with no sound. Please help. URL of Ebay auction page and also pics loaded for you to see. Thanks in advance, Angela.

Problem solved

Hi there.
Problem is now solved. Instead of plugging it into the component connection, a friend of ours came and had a look and after plugging it into the AV2 connection, everything was as it should be. Thanks again for anyone who checked into this for me.
