General Electric VCR GE VG 4275 VG4275 VG4275

safe mode
Posted by jef-g on Apr 6th, 2008 at 3:37pm

Our VCR says "safe" when we push any button. I was able to get the tape cassette out manually, but still get "safe" message. I have tried holding down the power and eject buttons as mentioned previously, to no effect. Any suggestions?

The "Safe" message means that the VCR is locked to protect timer record settings. You can turn the "Safe" lock off by pressing and holding the "VCR" button on the remote control for about 6 seconds. To turn the lock back on, press and hold the "VCR" button for 6 six seconds.
