  I have the same problem and do not have the original remote in order to follow the directions in the owners manual. Did anyone give you the answer?

  This woeked for me last week and I've been watching TV since...I rebooted the TV as follows
  1. Plug power cord to wall and Turn power on TV
  2. While TV is still ON, Unplug Power Cord from wall socket
  3. Hold down the MENU button on TV and Re-connect Power Cord to wall socket (TV should re-boot)
  4. The TV MENU should come on screen
  5. Follow the Owner Manuals instructions and Unlock code to unlock your TV
  
  It took me a few tries but if it locks up again then just reboot the TV again, I also bought another learning remote and the TV is now back to normal(Do Not Recommend RCA Remote)
