Panasonic DVD Recorder

VCR/TV Button

On the remote control there is a VCR/TV button. When you push this button the unit is supposed to be switched from VCR to TV and vice versa. I am pressing this button and nothing is happening. I know the problem is not the remote. One of the problems this is causing is the inability to view on-screen programming. On-screen programming is necessary to Setup the unit, program the cable channels, and set the clock. Does anybody know if there is another way to activate VCR/TV without using the remote? Does something have to be done first in order to enable this function? I just got the unit and it looks like I won't even be able to use it. Please Help!
