JVC DVD/VCR Combo

"Err"

when i insert any dvd into the dvd drive the message "Err" (i figure it mens error) comes up on the display screen. the vhs drive works fine though. is there a way for me to reset the player or fix it at home? or do i have to take it to be fixed or buy a new player? and i reported a broken link for both these user manual links for this player - they don't work!
