Sanyo DVD Recorder DVR-S120

Disc stuck in drive cannot eject
Posted by andylatham on Jun 20th, 2008 at 12:50pm

I was trying to get A Sanyo DVR S120 TV recorder to work. ( It belongs to an elderly neighbour and I think he had pulled out the power and other leads ). It would play a DVD but not record. I connected to my TV and Cable Box. I could receive signals for terrestial TV through the house antenna and I could play cable channels on the TV so I thing the connections are correct but I could not record. I could play a DVD. I concluded it had to be re-initialized or set-up. When I found the insructions for that I tried it but I had a blank DVD-RW 1-4x speed disc in the drive. If I power up it starts set up for a few second and starts the DVD drive and then switches off. It keeps repeating this cycle every few seconds. I have tried to eject both on the machine and using the handset but nothing happens.
I presume I have to remove the DVD disc with the power off. How do I do that? Thanks in anticipation.

Andy
