My Sylvania LC320SL1 32 inch flat panel tv will no...

My Sylvania LC320SL1 32 inch flat panel tv will not recognize the remote have to turn on manually. Now the sound won't come on - when you turn it up once you stop turning it up it immediately goes back to 0 volume. Menu button won't work to change any settings.
