LG DVD Recorder RH7522W

unknown disc

Few weeks ago, my recorder start to encounter the problem in reading the disc. Every time I inserted the disc, the unknown disc message will pop-up and the disc ejected. before that I can play or burn +/- RW, +/-R, but now even playing also cannot. Pls advise.

    I have the same problem with my RH200MHS. It suddenly stopped recognizing some (but not all) DVDs. It will play self-burned, but not some commercial DVDs. Mostly it says "unknown disc" but also "no disc" has happened. I do not expect this kind of behavior of a machine in this price range; please help.

    It does not help anyone of us, but it seems to be a universal problem with LG players and recorders. Try cleaning the lens, sometimes helps. Also try pulling the plig out, waiting 10 minutes and reconnecting - also apppears to help some, but not me!
