    I can't turn on my drc 8335 unit either. Manual control does not respond, and neither does the remote. Is there any way to reset the system?

    The problem is in the power supply. Burnt capacitor. Probably c226 (470 uF 16 volt)and/or c209 (220 uF 16 volt). If you are going to replace them use ones with a higher voltage rating (at least 35 volts). Radio Shack stocks both of these in the 35 volt range, for about $1.50 each. Hope that helped. Good luck.
