my remote quit working. I have a GE universal remote but can't find the code for this combo TV/VCR help

4 I own a Sylvania/Funai SRC2113 combo TV/VCR. I recently picked up an RCA Digital TV converter box, model DTA800B1. The converter comes with a universal remote and a list of three-digit codes that are supposed to allow you to match the universal remote to your TV regardless of the manufacturer. Enter the correct code into the remote and it will control your TV. First I tried the codes given for use with Sylvania and Funai TVs. None of the codes suggested in the converter box manual worked. Then I tried any and all valid three-digit codes to see if any would work. I found by trial and error that the code 116 allowed the RCA remote to work with my TV VCR combo! Maybe the same code will work for you.

0 @rchillingworth: you're a gentleman and a scholar (or a lady and a scholar - I've tried every known code, then have been searching forever finding nothing but questions, but no solutions. For me, too, on a Sylvania SRC2113 tv/vcr combo 13" set, the code 116 WORKS with the RCA digital converter box sold in every Wal-Mart in the country. It's funny the "experts" couldn't figure out the right codes to put in the booklet, but you were able. Many thanks!
