NORMAL (Upon purchase):
Select this when an AV amplifier with built-in Dolby Digital or DTS
decoder is connected to the DVD-3930CI’s digital audio output
terminal.
When playing discs recorded in Dolby Digital or DTS, the
corresponding bitstream signals are output.
Use this procedure to set the signal format of the digital audio output.
PCM:
When playing discs recorded in Dolby Digital or DTS, the signals are
converted to 48 kHz/16 bit PCM (2-channel) before being output.

1
OFF (Upon purchase):
For DVDs recorded in linear PCM or packed PCM without copyright
protection, 2-channel audio signals of up to 96 kHz are output as
linear PCM signals with no conversion. (192 kHz and 176.4 kHz
signals are converted to 96 kHz and 88.2 kHz, respectively.)
ON:
Linear PCM or packed PCM signals are converted to 48 kHz or less
for output.
Set to “ON” when using digital connections to an AV amplifier
that is not compatible with sampling frequencies of 192 kHz,
176.4 kHz, 96 kHz and 88.2 kHz.

Setting the digital output
Use this procedure to set the digital audio output when playing DVDs
recorded in linear PCM or packed PCM.
Setting the downsampling
• For DVDs containing multi-channel PCM signals, the signals are
down-mixed into the 2-channels and output in digital format. (For
sources for which down-mixing is prohibited, only the FL and FR
channels are output.)
• When playing linear PCM or packed PCM DVDs with copyright
protection, due to considerations for the copyright holder, digital
output is not possible for sources of 48 kHz/16 bit or more.
To play such sources, either set to “ON”, use DENON LINK or
analog connections ( page 9, 10).
• When playing discs recorded in linear PCM or packed PCM, the
signals are output in linear PCM format, regardless of this setting.

1
OFF (Upon purchase):
Select this when playing using the “SPEAKER SETUP” and “BASS
ENHANCER” settings.
Set this to output the disc’s audio information as such without making
the “AUDIO CHANNEL”, “SPEAKER SETUP”.
With Super Audio CDs, the playback range can be restricted using this
setting.
1
50kHz, 100kHz:
Set this to output the disc’s audio information as such without
making the “SPEAKER SETUP” and “BASS ENHANCER” settings.
With Super Audio CDs, if the disc’s audio information is output as
such and if an amplifier or speakers not compatible with the high
frequencies is/are connected, the amplifier or speakers could be
damaged. Set to “50kHz” if the amplifier or speakers is/are not
compatible with the high frequencies, “100kHz” if it/they are. (For
sources other than Super Audio CDs, the disc’s audio information is
output as such, regardless of whether this is set to “50kHz” or
“100kHz”.)
