PREPARATION
POWER SOURCES
You can power the TV from any of
three power sources:
• internal battery power (using four
D batteries (not supplied)
• standard AC power (using an
optional AC adapter)
• vehicle battery power (using an
optional DC power cord)
Internal Battery Power
Your TV requires four D batteries for
power. For the best performance and
longest life, we recommend Ra-
dioShack alkaline batteries.
Cautions:
• Use only fresh batteries of the
required size and recommended
type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries,
different types of batteries (stan-
dard, alkaline, or rechargeable),
or rechargeable batteries of differ-
ent capacities.
Follow these steps to install batteries.
1. Move the antenna out of the way
and push and lift up the battery
cover's buckle on the back of the
TV to open the battery compart-
ment cover.
2. Install four fresh alkaline batteries
as indicated by the polarity sym-
bols (+ and –) marked inside.
Caution:
Installing batteries incor-
rectly can damage the TV.
3. Close the battery cover and push
down the buckle to secure the bat-
tery cover.
Note:
The TV can operate for about 9
hours with alkaline batteries. When
the sound level lowers or the picture
becomes unstable, replace the batter-
ies.
