1 Select the source you want to
playback.
2 Press AUTO.
For multi-channel sources, Dolby/DTS
decoding is selected automatically accord-
ing to the source and AUTO shows in the
display.
Pressing SURROUND repeatedly during
playback of a multi-channel source will cycle
through the following menu:

Auto
Dolb

Di
g
ital/DTS
Selecting STEREO downmixes a multi-
channel source to your two-front speakers.
For a two channel source, you can press
SURROUND repeatedly to select between
the three Pro Logic II modes (below).

3 Start playback of the component you
selected in step 1.
• When playing 96 kHz digital signal disc
formats, you can only use the STEREO
listening mode.
• When the headphones are connected,
you can only use the STEREO listening
mode.
Listening to a stereo source
When AUTO is selected, a stereo source is
detected automatically and plays through the
front speakers only. To listen to a stereo
