About this manual
In this manual, the internal
hard disk drive is written as
“HDD,” and “disc” is used as a
general reference for the HDD,
DVDs, or CDs unless
otherwise specified by the text
or illustrations.
Icons, such as , listed
at the top of each explanation
indicate what kind of media
can be used with the function
being explained.
Instructions in this manual
describe the controls on the
remote. You can also use the
controls on the recorder if they
have the same or similar
names as those on the remote.
The on-screen display
illustrations used in this
manual may not match the
graphics displayed on your TV
screen.
The explanations regarding
DVDs in this manual refer to
DVDs created on this recorder.
The explanations do not apply
to DVDs that are created on
other recorders and played
back on this recorder.

still video image or on-
screen display image
