Skips or sticks a lot. Doesn't load/play certain DVDs, even brand new ones, sometimes making a loud whirring noise as it tries to load.

I rec'd this as a retirement gift about 2 yrs ago. Now it will not play DVDs in any of the 5 trays without their starting to jerk & get very pixilated. Sound is still good. Any suggestions?

insert dvd disc,get dvd/vsr click on dvd put t.v. on channel3, get "comp 1" on t.v. screen, click :play" "INSIGNIA" LOGO APPEARS WITH LITTLE SPINNING DISC. THEN JUST STOPS AND NOTHING HAPPENS....CAN PLAY VHS FINE

I have a DRC277 model dvd player I bought last year and the remote broke and we want to program it to our Directv univeral remote control (dtv remote RC23) and all the 5 codes that Directv has do not work. It will not work many functions without a remote. Do you have other program codes for this model??
