Great piece on the need for better heat sinking on this unit. I'm not as tech savvy as the commenter but I always felt the problems with my Akai DVD200BL were heat related. When playing back DVD movies on my AKAI DVD 200BL, about 15 to 35 minutes into the movie colored horizontal lines appear randomly across the picture playing back on my 27" Panasonic conventional CRT television. I felt this was due to the Akai's warming up. As the movie goes on more and more lines appear.
