I cannot get my APEX 1200 DVD to function. It oper...

I cannot get my APEX 1200 DVD to function. It operated OK last year just fine. Now I load a DVD into Play Slot and nothing happens. The green Power Light is on. I can eject and Load a current DVD. Nothing happens after. I have been using a universal Remote all this time. Can You Help? Regards Paul
