I have a apex VCR /DVD PLAYER ADV 3800. When I go play a DVD it says no disc even though there is a DVD in tray

5 ok first remove the disc. make sure the disc is throughly cleaned, use rubbing alcochol and a piece or tissue or napkin. or rubbing alcohol if u have it. make sure you place disc down on tray properly. if that foesnt work. the problem is your disc is a bootlegged disc its not an original disc so some dvd players dont play copies
