I have a dvd vcr apex combo machine, the vcr will work, but when I try to play a vhs all I get is sound what can I do

5 Make sure the cable that is yellow on both ends is connected to the "VIDEO OUT" jack on the back of the unit, as well as the "VIDEO IN" jack on the front or back of the TV. The jack will be the same color on both the unit and TV. The yellow cable provides the picture while the white and red ones provide the sound. It is likely that the yellow cable is either disconnected or improperly connected (say, plugged into a wrong jack). I hope this solves your problem.
