I muted the sound on my TV with the remote and now...

I muted the sound on my TV with the remote and now it won't unmute. The remote shows that it is unmuted, but the sound won't return. It shows me raising the volume but still can't hear anything. It is not the cable because I have tried it with my streaming services too.
