Found this lovely tv in someone's garbage. It work...

Found this lovely tv in someone's garbage. It works perfectly with a 12 volt adapter we had around the house. Is it okay to use this generic adapter or can it harm the tv. In other words must we try to find an Audiovox adapter? Thanks
