how do I connect the colored cables and to what. W...

how do I connect the colored cables and to what. Where do they get connected into, the adapter i have for the non cable ready TV or the Time Warner connector box. I can watch cable tv shows, i just ca't get my dvd to play anymore, they disconnected the plugs and i don't know what to do.
