5 most tvs these days are equipped with a 3.5mm jack socket (or headphone socket like on an mp3 player, phone, ipod etc) these are normally found on the left or right hand side (not front or back). these sockets are not just for headphones, they can be used to plug in amplified speakers, like the ones you can use with a pc. just make sure you get amplified ones of good quality (labtec, autec lansing, creative) that need power from the mains as this means they will have their own volume control, which you may need as some (not many) tvs will cut their main speaker feed when anything is plugged into the headphone socket. hope this helps you out
