Question About Curtis Mathes TV VCR Combo CMC13003

I bought this TV a few days ago. I set everything and I can even record the channel I am viewing but I cannot get the system to record time. The manual gives the options of Antenna, and 3 different cable codes but I get my signal from DirecTV and haven't been able to (again) time record anything. Any comment?

0 I need to know how to record programs using the time recording. The manual doesn't mention satellite at all. I can record a program when the mode is in Line In but cannot program a future program.
