How to reset......

The unit stop suddenly and go black screen and turn it off, (since 2 or 3 years ago) On the user's manual i found that the DVD Recorder has interrupted by itself and fix it pressing the RESET button on the rear pannel... but the unit has'nt that button on the rear. How can i reset the unit? Any help will be apreciate. Thank in advance
