2 I have the same problem the Emerson Jumbo Universal Remote will not accept the codes for Direct TV. I assumed it was because it was a high definition reciever. After contacting Emerson for the Universal Code I was told to contact Direct TV and they would have the newest universal codes. Direct TV said to contact Emerson for the latest universal cold.

1 i'm thinking the problem is with the direct tv receiver. I have 3 other universal remotes all different brands and none of them work on the direct tv receiver
