I just bought a go.video 4000 dvd/Vcr combo and i ...

I just bought a go.video 4000 dvd/Vcr combo and i want to a video tape to a dvd. I put the vhs tape in and i put a blank dvd+r in the dvd side. Then i pushed the copy button. Im not sure if this was right and i dont have a manual. Is there something else im supposed to do?
