Question About Go-Video DVD VCR Combo vr2940
won't work no picture...

I went to play a dvd for my grandson and it says there is no live picture at the imput. I have not changed any connections and can't get it to work. also I wanted to transfere vhs tapes to dvd can I do this as well ? I cannot find the instruction manual and its not listed.
