Question About Insignia DVD Player NS-BRDVD3

new insignia blu ray. dvd player..model # BRDVD3. new insigna tv...lcd 1080. I get the dvd player to play, but won't show on tv screen.. have dish net work satellite service. I called them...they just give instuctions for their satellite. my problem is getting the dvd player to work on the tv...ty Earl
