5 Some TVs require you to turn their internal speakers off in order to send sound to an external device. 1) Make sure your connections are good from TV to speaker system. 2) Make sure everything is powered on and the speaker system is set to the proper input. 3) Go to the audio settings menu on your TV and turn the internal speakers off. 3a) There may be an option to "Use internal/TV volume" or something along those lines — make sure to turn that off. You want to be using the speaker system for your volume. 3b) There also may be an option to "Send sound to output" or something along those lines — make sure to use that option, if available.
