how the heck do I connect that thingy to my tv. th...

how the heck do I connect that thingy to my tv. the shape is too long and I cannot screw it on, because I can't get it to turn a full turn without hitting the tv, the cable thingy where it screws on to is in an awkward position. Or I am totally off here, so frustrating
