The tv won't pick up on the hdmi cable from the ps...

The tv won't pick up on the hdmi cable from the ps3. It keeps saying no signal. I've read that resetting it to the factory settings could work, but I'm not seeing any of the options from forums when I hit menu . I just see station, picture, sound, time, special and screen. When in the forums I am told to go to "options" help?
