my dvdplayer sometimes shows error 45 what does this mean?

0 Error 45 on the Magnavox ZV450MW8A says something about not being able to record a program in +VR mode. I thinkl that this means that the program is copy protected, but I am not sure. I really would like to find a fix for this, because I would like to record movies and such from cable (verizon FIOS) and the unit doen not let me do it. Can somebody out there help?
