Question About Magnavox DVD VCR Combo ZV450MW8A
wrong hookup?...

I cannot get the machine do anything but record. I cannot get the clock set so cannot preset to record. It is connected thru my dish. It is an echostar brand. My t.v. is a flatscreen samsung. Also when I play the recorded tape I only get sound but no picture. But if I play it on another machine I get both audio and video. I need help. Please!

1 try putting your tv into video mode, using the remote from your tv. you will be looking for a button on the tv remote, it will be eathier tv video or input, aux, or game. if u have any other questions please e-mail me at flower9itegrl@yahoo.com

0 you do want unit to be connect with the coxal from the cable box and red white and yellow from tv to back of unit

0 I am having problems with the VCR when I try to playback recorded tapes or any prerecorded store bought tape. It was running fine then after power went off and then back on it started having problems. You put a tape in and it seems to work fine but then after the count of 5 on the counter it will shut off the entire system. You have to turn back on the power to the whole thing. I thought maybe the VCR heads were dirty so tried a cleaner but it too will only run till count of 5 and do what happens with tapes. I tried turning on power and running the cleaner from where it stops but that get me no where. I was hoping to find my manual to see if it had something I could do but we have lost it somehow in the changing of things in house. I also wanted to know if I can use the DVD recorder to tape shows important to us and what type of DVD-R/RW is best or not good to use? Can anyone help me with either trying to trouble shoot the VCR problem, answering the question on DVD, type of DVD-R or getting a copy of the manual?
