we recieved this tv as a gift and it has no owner ...

we recieved this tv as a gift and it has no owner manual or remote. Could I get a copy of the buttons, I bought a generic remote and all works but I can't play a DVD. It plays but when it comes to the movie after the adds I can't hit play My email is shellyabbott100@hotmail.com Thank you Shelly
