my boyfriend tried to hook up our new dvd player to our tv and can not get it to work. We have a vcr hook up to the tv and have a cable box. hte cable company says that the cable box won't matter. He also tried to just hook it up to the tv with nothing else hooked to it , no vcr and no cable but it still would not work. We connected the new dvd player to another televison and it worked fin e. Can you tell me what might be the problem
