I have been trying for hours to find this simple bit of info. The unit uses 9v DC, the AC adapter is 9v. The question is, does the car adapter step down the car voltage to 9 v, or can you use 12v directly into the player without frying the player. There are lots of sites selling them but none of them netion wether they are 12v output or not.. Asking because lost ours, and have a couple of cigarette lighter plugs that are straight 12v in and out.
