0 the reason it doesn't see the disc is that your disc is dirty or scratched, or else the lens inside the player needs to get cleaned. You can buy cheaply a "lens cleaning disc". 1st try with insering another disc, a perfectly clean one. 2,nd clean the lens inside the drive. if this still won't help you have to clean the ring under the hole of the disc, which makes it go spinning around when you insert the disc. Just moisten 5 mm around the underside of the rim of the center-hole of a disc with alcohol and insert it , sometimes it works, I open the drives and clean it surgically for good (same ringshaped center of the drive) but watch out not to power it up because if you look at the laser you can go blind !!!!! I brought many DVD-players back to life this way.
