5 I have this Tv and it wasn't difficult to receive cable programming,. All I did was hook up the cable box to the tv, turn it on and go into the menu on the tv, and run the locater for channels and it should pick up any channels through the cable box that you are receiving through your cable provider. Just be sure that you have your output on the TV set to the tv setting or nothing's going to show up.
