My 5 disk DVD player Rtd217 does not recognize any...

My 5 disk DVD player Rtd217 does not recognize any disks in the player. I tried many different DVD's, not recordings. It will not even recognize the DVD cleaner in the chamber. What causes this and how to fix it?
