DVD side will not read. I tried a DVD cleaner disc...

DVD side will not read. I tried a DVD cleaner disc and it would not read it. The Video side still works. What could be the problem? Purchased in 12/2004 SER # LP4JB005126 Mod # DMR-E75V I have the customer booklet. Is this the same as the manual?
