0 i purchase this 2 yrs. ago can not record on to dvd, so i put it back in the box, i found this sunday, so i try to record onto dvd again, still will not record, did i buy a piece of junk, not doing what it said it would do

0 I, too, have owned this machine as long, and still cannot get it to format a dvd to record to. I am very frustrated because I so wanted to transfer vhs tapes to dvd format and this seemed to be the solution. NOthing in the manual says anything about not able to format dvd's. In fact, it says that the machine will automatically format prior to recording. HELP!
