5 Newer TVs normally have a setup menu item for turning speakers off. Older TVs may have a speaker on/off switch on the rear panel near the audio output jacks. Through the TV setup menu: Using your TV remote, display the audio menu on your TV screen. In most cases this can be done by pressing the Menu button and selecting "Audio" Locate the "Speakers On/Off" menu item, select "Speakers Off" and exit the menu Note: If your TV audio menu does not have an option for turning the internal speakers off, exit the menu and reduce the TV volume to its lowest setting Using the speaker on/off switch: If the rear panel of your TV has a SPEAKER ON/OFF switch, set it to the "OFF" position and adjust the TV volume to about 80% of its highest setting.
