why isn't there a full screen option on my TV? All...

why isn't there a full screen option on my TV? All there is, is zoom, cinema, wide-screen and normal. And normal is a small box in the middle of my screen. I just want to use every inch of my 36" tv without 2" from the top and bottom being cut off.
